Interesting. Particularly the notion that ibuprofen could be categorized as a supplement. I wonder if there’s been any studies on benefits of this long term vs deleterious effect on the stomach, another organ that has a finite operating limit affected by stressors such as this. Ibuprofen is one of a collection of NSAIDs, perhaps one of the milder ones hence maybe the less risky inclusion in the category of ‘supplements’….but still curious.

Interesting question(s), all. For the uninitiated, NSAIDs — non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs — stop your body from producing certain chemicals that cause inflammation. NSAIDs work like corticosteroids without steroid side effects.

The correlation of longevity and youthful organ age with these "supplements" including ibuprofin, vitamin C and multivitamins is indeed interesting. Maybe it's only a correlation (eg, people who are more athletic may tend to take more ibuprofin, esp as they age, and may be more health conscious and, thus, take more vitamins). And/or these "supplements" may serve as critical reducers of disease-helping inflammation, and serve to inhibit dying early. For the athletes among us, this is a question I'll be examining more deeply in 2025!
